The fine, white sand along the north Gulf Coast of Florida is close to 100% quartz, which is very unusual. It has the look, feel and consistency of sugar and is the only purely white, sandy beach you are likely to ever find!
Over thousands of years, the small, quartz crystals made their way down from the Appalachian Mountains by way of the Apalachicola River, leaving behind miles and miles of glaringly bright white beaches, which greet the green waters of our Gulf.
Reflecting perfectly the light of the day’s sun and the warm colors of a sunset, the blues of the shadows in the sand are often as bright as a clear blue sky.
Merging gracefully, the sunlit sand and shadow create a vision of harmony, reminding us that with practice, the inevitable days in “shadow” can be accepted and merge gracefully with sunlit days of joy.
